Job Description

How about you?

  • You will have a passion for music from across the independent label sector
  • You will be particularly knowledgeable about dance and electronic music
  • You will have at least two years experience of working in the music industry
  • You will be likeable, confident, creative, eloquent and inspiring
  • You will be based in either London or Paris

What you will do?

  • Manage and develop strong relationships with our partners across the whole independent music community (distributors, labels, artists, managers)
  • Lead Deezer's relationships with the independent dance and electronic music community 
  • Organise the pitch process for playlisting, compile the priority release schedule and communicate this to the editorial team
  • Discuss suitability of releases for playlisting with the editorial team and then negotiate with label and artist teams to secure artist support
  • Ensure Deezer is included in all artist/label music links where other music streaming companies are listed
  • Design and implement impactful artist campaigns that will maximise user engagement and ensure artist participation at every stage
  • Plan and execute Deezer artist activations (live events and content creation), then negotiate and confirm artist involvement and support
  • Work collaboratively to ensure all internal teams are kept informed about activations (editorial, social, PR, CRM, ad sales, product, brand, partnerships)
  • Continually monitor user data and apply it to achieve maximum impact in artist campaigns
  • Maintain excellent relationships with Deezer offices and personnel in local markets and take their needs into consideration in regards to artist campaigns
  • Record and track the status of all campaigns and create detailed reports of all activations


What we are looking for:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise efficiently and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated and driven with can-do attitude
  • Good analytical skills and ability to interpret and apply data
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Suite applications (Docs / Sheets / Slides)
  • Skillful ability to craft and deliver professional level presentations
  • Willingness to occasionally work odd hours and weekends (the music business is a 24/7 industry)
  • Willingness to travel between London and Paris
  • A network of music industry contacts (labels, publishers, managers, agents, promoters and artists) 
  • Strong understanding of music industry supply chain processes and repertoire ownership
  • Strong insight into the role social media in the artist/fan relationship
  • Strong awareness of breaking artists, trending releases, music industry news and technology developments
  • Full professional proficiency in English (proficiency in other European languages is a bonus)
