Job Description

How about you?

We are looking for a Lead QA for the Customer & Monetization startup.  Your mission will be to ensure the quality and the reliability of the journeys managed by the teams: acquisition, signup/signin, gdpr consent, communication, free monetization, conversion funnel, payments, …

You will manage a team of 4 QA Analysts/Engineers and you will work closely with the product and the engineering teams.

This role is excellent for a person with a strong business interest who understands the impacts for the customers and for Deezer.


What you will do:

Manage the Customer & Monetization QA Team 

  • Define the needs of hiring, and take in charge the interviews and the technical test for candidates 

  • Onboard the new QA team members 

  • Onboard the other new comers to the Startup's QA processes 

  • Lead the team members through 1:1, Performance Review, Carrier Check-Ins, … and other management rituals

  • Help the team grow (process, efficiency, autonomy, …)

  • Define the objectives and the priorities for the team

Apply and adapt the Company QA Strategy to the Customer & Monetization Startup

  • Assist team members in test plans elaboration and supervise test execution phase 

  • Determine the right split between manual and automatic tests for each project

  • Define the non-regression testing approach and automatic tests coverage strategy

  • Choose and integrate the usage of the right tools. 

  • Manage the mobile apps releases and Beta phase external testing strategy

  • Actively participate to QA community by sharing success and failure and using other teams success

Bug Management

  • Own the backlog of bugs of the Startup

  • Define and apply the process to manage the bugs (prioritisation, resolution planification



To be successful in this mission, you will need the following:

  • Excellent knowledge of software development process (mobile, web and API)

  • Knowledge of software testing types, methodologies, and techniques, as well as Software Development Life Cycles.

  • Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.

  • Good knowledge  of API testing tools

  • Basic knowledge of Java as programming language (for test automation) is a plus.

  • Good knowledge of Test Automation frameworks such as Appium and Selenium is a plus.

  • Team Player: Capability to promote teamwork, cooperation and a positive atmosphere to increase productivity

  • Sense of organization and processes.

  • Problem solver, critical and analytical thinking. 

  • Good communication skills with technical & non-technical people

  • Strong Negotiation Skills: Ability to say ‘no’ to other leads / managers

  • Management Skills: Know how to Help Your Team Members Grow As An Individual

  • English is your business language
