Job Description

Context:

Partnerships are at the heart of Deezer’s DNA and are one of the main drivers of our growth. Deezer has an ambitious strategic plan to implement a partnership-first strategy in attractive music streaming markets to replicate historical successes in France and Brazil, as illustrated by the recent signing of a partnership in Germany with RTL. Deezer has identified a selection of key attractive markets to sign B2B deals, which includes the United States and Canada.

We are looking for a Business Development Senior Manager to join Deezer’s Partner Strategy & Business Development team, reporting to the Business Development Director - US, Canada and Latin America. You will have the key responsibility of building strategic relationships, execute and close large partnership opportunities with key players in the US and Canada, achieving Deezer music streaming growth and subscriber acquisition, focused on the following sectors: Media & Technology, Telecommunications, Automotive, Hardware, Digital Retail, Gaming.

What you will do:

  • Lead & drive client pipeline from origination to deal execution: identify, pitch and execute strategic partner opportunities in the US and Canada 
  • Qualify effectively all the potential prospects and leads strategic deal evaluation, hands-on business modeling and forecasting revenue
  • Maintain and document deals pipeline with global tools and benchmark against similar deals in other regions
  • Manage complex contract negotiations with partners and all key stakeholders involved with or affected by B2B projects
  • Support and follow-up deal progress  across Deezer cross-functional teams (such as Finance, Product, Tech, Legal), by developing business cases, articulating market opportunity and clarifying resource requirements
  • Work closely with partner solutions, product, account management, and B2B marketing to ensure partnership deals are executed to their maximum potential
  • Embody Deezer’s core values in your local market, be an ambassador for our global partnerships team

Qualifications

This role is excellent for a person with:

  • 5+ years’ experience in business development or partnerships in, or related to the following sectors: digital subscription services, digital retail, gaming, media, VAS for telecommunications - with an existing network of contacts
  • Proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and closing term sheets and complex contracts with large companies and exceeding business goals
  • Demonstrated deal-making skills: negotiation and communication abilities to influence outcomes externally and internally
  • Strong understanding of B2B partnerships dynamics, ideally for subscription-based, premium services
  • High-level of autonomy, self-organization and prioritization abilities
  • Analytical and collaborative mindset, comfortable working closely with others as a team despite not being in the same office / home working settings

Additional Information

  • Location: preference for the West Coast (LA/SFO), alternatively NYC
  • Ability to travel domestically (US/Canada) and internationally (FR)
