Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our Industry team to improve our in-house platform called Zephir. This platform is a web application  used by various teams, mainly with the intention of providing simple visualization of royalties payments and fraud.

Our team has a central role in the royalties data treatment at Deezer. Its main mission is to calculate royalties according to content performances; and compute and send reporting to Deezer’s recording and publishing partners.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of scalable technical solutions for the royalties web platform. These solutions will have a significant impact on Deezer's results in areas of royalties payments, reports and fraud detection.

What you will do:

• Improve the reliability and efficiency of Zephir platform by migrating critical parts, from Python 2 to Python 3 on the backend, and from jQuery to React on the frontend.
• Help Deezer become the most loved streaming platform by content creators, by improving our artists remuneration web platform.
• Participate in story planning, standups and retrospectives with the team.
• Produce and update documentation and tutorials that enable other teams to easily use your new features.
• Propose performance solutions and improvements to existing features, with the help of other team members,

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

• Knowledge of Python for back-end development (We have a Django REST API).
• Knowledge of JS for front-end development (We use ReactJS).
• Team player, creative and able to set own priorities.
• Can work and communicate in English.

Bonus points 🙂:

• Notions in microservices architecture.
• A first approach to Docker, Kubernetes.
• Interests in Big Data (you’ll work on a daily basis with Data Engineers / Analysts).
• Curiosity about performance.
